I’m a little nervous about saying anything about the artist [Andy], because it kind of sticks him right between the eyes, but he deserves it. He really fucked up a great many young people’s lives.

When I saw “Factory Girl” I couldn’t help but see Andy as the villain. I’ve seen his work many times. There’s one set called “Oxidation Pieces,” I believe and it’s just the result of him pissing on cavases.
He never had respect for his audience, and from his writings it seemed that he did everything on a selfish lark. Other people’s issues were amusing to him, it was like he had no empathy. His work is devoid of soul. But perhaps that was the point.
He was absolutely correct about how fame would develop in our world, however.
